Getting Traffic From The Search Engines

There are two ways to get customers to your site in the search engines:

1. By using search engine optimization (SEO) so your site ranks well in the organic search engine results.

2. By using pay per click (PPC) search engine marketing,  where you pay when someone clicks your ad.

Search Engine Optimization

You can get listed in the search engines for the keywords your market is already using to search for information in your niche. To do this you need to:

  • Use a keyword tool to determine what words your market is already searching for (and what you can rank well for).
  • Create content and articles around these keywords
  • And then do “offsite optimization” which means that you get links from sites with an anchor text.

If you follow this three steps above you can actually get in a lot of highly target traffic to your site in matter of weeks.

Pay Per Click Marketing

The second way of getting traffic from the search engines is by using pay per click marketing (PPC), like Google Adwords.

Instead of putting all your time into ranking well and spending weeks to see results, you can put a couple of hours into creating campaign and see results almost instantly!

To make PPC work you need to:

  • Choose targeted and focused keywords that shows your searcher is a buyer (not a freebie seeker). Whenever possible, choose product names, model numbers and other specifics as your keywords to bid on. These keywods will convert best because the buyer will know exactly what they want.
  • Create a compelling ad that gets clicks (and try to have your keywords in the headline)
  • And create a high-converting landing page. If your keyword is blue widgets your landing page should be about blue widgets.

To succeed as an affiliate you have to be good on either one of this traffic getting techniques. Traffic is vital for affiliate marketing and internet marketing in general.
