In the last post I had been talking about the first 3 steps, so here are the last steps that I think is important in starting an affiliate business.

4. Create a page for email capture

It is on this page where you will be able to capture information concerning your prospects for you to send them follow-up series. It is quite necessary for you to own your own website for you to be able to build a business successfully. This is because you will be able to control the site’s content and at the same time have the ability to capture for yourself email addresses. Even though you may survive for sometime without this, it is not worth it.

5. Direct traffic to the squeeze page

You should not even consider traffic techniques if you have not completed step four. First of all, why should you be bothered about generating traffic when you do not have a place to send it. It may take a while before you can start realizing some sales in the program, but this is entirely dependent on the technique you use for traffic generation. You ought to spend time refining techniques and developing some traffic streams to assist you in driving more traffic without having to put in much effort.

6. Get more related products

The moment your business begins to make money, the time has come to begin adding more products. When I say this, I do not mean that you go out and then sign up for each affiliate program that is not related to the first. On the contrary, choose carefully few additional products and then add them to the pipeline. Since you have been developing a list of suitable prospects, you will be in a better position to market to them the new products. This is a good way to make money for your business. At the same time, you may realize that it is difficult to find the initial product and market. Take time to pick the best product available to you. Incase the product you have chosen for promotion is not good enough, it means that your prospects will not have time to waste listening to any recommendations you may have.

The above six steps are the only thing you need to move from having nothing to start an affiliate marketing business that is making profits by selling the products of other people.
